Criteria for Eligibility
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:-
- Undergraduate or postgraduate students in government/aided colleges or university departments must be in their first year of studies.
- His/her family must fall below the poverty line, and he/she must be from a family with a low income.
- In the qualifying examination, the applicant must have scored at least 50%.
Suvarna Jubilee Scholarship Details of Amount
This scholarship offers the following rewards to the applicant:-
- Scholarships will be deposited into the candidates’ bank accounts each year for Rs.10,000/-.
- State Bank of Travancore account in the applicant’s name is required.
Scholarships Awarded
This scheme offers the following scholarships:
- Each college will receive a proportional number of scholarships based on the number of students studying there.
- SC/ST categories are eligible for up to 10% of the Scholarships.
- PWDs are eligible to apply for 10 scholarships, and those who excel in arts and sports at state and national levels are eligible for another 5.
- This scholarship is not available to those who are receiving any other scholarship.
- For the purposes of this provision, SC/ST candidates are exempt from receiving lump-sum grants.
- Upon approval by the college council, the list of candidates eligible for the scholarship should be published in the college by the head of the institution.
