Oasis Scholarship 2023: As part of its Oasis Scholarship program, the government of West Bengal provides financial assistance to SC, ST, and OBC students. Scholarships such as this one are designed to assist students in pursuing further education.

West Bengal residents are the only ones eligible for this scholarship program.

You can apply for the Oasis Scholarship at oasis.gov.in if you are a West Bengal resident and belong to any of these categories. Here is everything you need to know about oasis scholarship status checks, eligibility requirements, application and renewal processes, and the deadline.

Oasis Scholarship 2023

The West Bengal Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Department offers the Oasis Scholarship. This scholarship is renewable annually and is open to SC, ST, and OBC students studying in pre-matriculated and post-matriculated courses in West Bengal.

Scholarships cover tuition fees, maintenance allowances, books and stationery allowances, as well as other educational expenses. There are Oasis Scholarships available for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and professional courses in medicine, engineering, nursing, education, pharmacy, veterinary science, and law.

Oasis Scholarship Latest Update

As of now, there is no deadline for registering for the OSIS scholarship, which opens on 10-05-2022 for the 2022-23 session.

SC students must apply on the National Scholarship Portal (https://scholarships.gov.in) for pre-matric or post-matric scholarships. Once students receive their unique IDs from the NSP portal, they must apply on the OSIS portal to register for scholarships.

SC and ST students have been given new guidelines for applying for OSIS Scholarships. Detailed information can be found below.

Oasis Scholarships Types

The government of West Bengal and Backward Classes Welfare provides 4 types of Oasis Scholarships:

Oasis Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  1. West Bengal state must be the home state of the student.

  2. In the previous final examination, the student should have had at least 60% attendance.

  3. A minimum of 50% marks must be obtained in the previous final exam.

  4. This scholarship is only available to two students from the same family.

Here are the detailed criteria for each scholarship:

Pre-matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students

  • SC/ST State of Origin Certification is required for the applicant.

  • Students in Class 9th and 10th only.

  • An applicant’s family income should not exceed rs. 200,000/year.

Post-matric Scholarship for OBC/SC/ST Students

  • The applicant should be a student from a SC/ST/OBC group.

  • An applicant must have passed the previous qualifying examination (11th or 12th grade) from a recognized school or university.

  • The program is also open to students from post-graduate, M. Phil, and PhD programs.

  • If the applicant is a SC/ST or an OBC, his/her family income should not exceed INR 1,00,000 per year.

Oasis Scholarship Amount

The following is the amount of the Oasis Scholarship that will be awarded to the selected candidates:

Pre-matric Scholarship for SC/ST students:

Day scholars will receive:

  • ₹150 per month for 10 months

  • ₹750 per year for Ad-hoc Grant recipients.

Hostellers will receive:

  • ₹750 per month for 10 months

  • ₹1000 per year for Ad-hoc Grant hostellers.

Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ST students:

Day scholars will receive:

Engineering, BSc, Agriculture, Medical, LLM, MPhil & PhD Students: ₹550 per month
B. Pharma, BSc Nursing, LLB, Hotel Management & Postgraduate Students: ₹530 per month
Undergraduate Students: ₹300 per month
students of classes 11th and 12th in the 10+2 system, intermediate Students: ₹230 per month

Hostellers will receive:

Engineering, BSc, Agriculture, Medical, LLM, MPhil & PhD Students: ₹1200 per month
B. Pharma, BSc Nursing, LLB, Hotel Management & Postgraduate Students: ₹820 per month
Undergraduate Students: ₹750 per month
students of classes 11th and 12th in the 10+2 system, intermediate Students: ₹750 per month

Oasis Scholarship Documents Required

Oasis Scholarships are need-based scholarships offered to West Bengal residents. A scholarship is awarded based on financial need as well as academic merit. For undergraduate studies, the Oasis Scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years.

The following documents are required for students to apply for the Oasis Scholarship:

  2. Caste Certificate

  3. Birth Certificate

  4. Income Certificate

  5. Aadhar Card or any other government proof of ID

  6. Address Proof

  7. Passport size photo of the candidate

  8. Mark sheet of previous qualifying examination

  9. Bank passbook showing bank name, branch, IFSC code, account number, beneficiary name

Oasis Scholarship recipients will receive a scholarship award disbursed to their bank account on a semester-by-semester basis. For undergraduate studies, the Oasis Scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years.

Oasis Scholarship Online Apply

1. Registration Process

For new registration for Oasis Scholarship, Follow the below steps:

1. Visit oasis.gov.in to access the official Oasis Scholarship website.

2. On the website, click the “Student Registration” link.

3. Click on SUBMIT after choosing your District from the list. On the next page, you will see the VERIFICATION OF CASTE CERTIFICATE page.

4. The Computerized Caste Certificate or Acknowledgement Number can be obtained online at castcertificatewb.gov.in (Only for Prematric scholarship) by entering the caste certificate number, the issuance date and the type of certificate. Then fill out the Captcha and click Submit. On the next page, you will be asked to fill in the details of the student.

5. Enter your Full Name, Father’s Name, Occupation, Monthly Income, and Address.

6. On the next page, enter your Date of Birth, Cast, Sub-Caste, Current Institution Name, Phone Number, and Email address.

7. Click on SUBMIT to upload a scanned photograph.

Oasis Scholarship Portal Login Process

  1. Visit oasis.gov.in again to access the official Oasis Scholarship website.

  2. Go to the “REGISTERED STUDENT’S LOGIN” link.

  3. Please enter your User ID and Password.

  4. To access your account, click the “Login” button.

Oasis Scholarship Application Completion Process

  1. Fill out all required information after logging in by clicking the “Further Details” button.

  2. Your bank account information (bank name, account number, IFSC code) will be used to receive your scholarship award.

  3. Select “Verify and Lock”.

  4. The PDF can be downloaded by clicking on the “Print Application” button.

  5. Print out the PDF.

Oasis Scholarship Application Submission

Now, sign on the printed Application Form and attach the following documents with it:

  • Attested Copy of Caste Certificate

  • Attested Copy of Mark sheet of the last examination

  • Copy of the First page of Bank Passbook

Please submit the application form to your local BDO office (for block areas). PO cum DWO / DWO (for Municipality and Corporation areas) by the last day to apply.

Oasis Scholarship Status Check

  • Click on the Track Application button on the Oasis.gov.in Scholarship Application Portal.

  • Please enter your User ID or Serial Number as well as the Application Session.

  • View your scholarship application status by clicking the Check Status button. OASIS will notify you via email and/or text message when your scholarship application has been approved.

Oasis Scholarship Application Renewal

To continue receiving the Oasis Scholarship, you must renew your scholarship each year. Renewals are similar to first-time applications, but the renewal process is a bit different.

You can find below the step-by-step description of the renewal process:

1. The Oasis scholarship portal can be found here.

2. You will be asked to choose a district when you click on the RENEW SCHOLARSHIP tab under the STUDENT CORNER SECTION.

3. SUBMIT after choosing your district. The Renewal Student Login Area will now open on a separate page.

4. Enter your user ID and password from your previous scholarship application, fill out the Captcha, and click LOGIN.

5. Once logged in, verify the scholarship details you previously entered and edit them if necessary.

6. Following the verification and correction of all existing data, click the Renew Application button. You will be directed to a new page where you can enter your academic information for the current school year.

7. Submit your Scholarship Renewal request by filling in all the required details and clicking the Renew and Lock application button.
