Suvarna Jubilee Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a first-year student in an undergraduate or postgraduate course at a government-aided college or university department.
- Belong to a family classified as Below Poverty Line (BPL) with income below the poverty line.
- Have scored 50% or more in the qualifying examination.
Suvarna Jubilee Scholarship Amount Details
Recipients of this scholarship will receive the following benefits:
- An annual scholarship amount of Rs. 10,000, directly deposited into the selected candidate’s bank account.
- Applicants are required to have a bank account in their name at the State Bank of Travancore.
Number of Scholarships
The number of scholarships awarded in this scheme is as follows:
- The number of scholarships for each college is proportionate to the number of students studying at that college.
- Up to 10% of scholarships are reserved for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
- Additionally, 10 scholarships are earmarked for students with disabilities (PWD), and 5 are reserved for those who have excelled in Arts/Sports at the State/National levels.
- Applicants receiving other scholarships are not eligible for this scholarship, with the exception of the Lump-sum Grant received by SC/ST candidates.
