The Science and Engineering Research Board of the Government of India has launched the Accelerate Vigyan Scheme 2023. Participants interested in high-end workshops, training, or internship programs can apply for grants. Researchers who wish to organize workshops or provide training and skill internships can benefit from SERB programs. More information is provided below.

SERB Accelerate Vigyan Scheme 2023
Several new programs have been started by the Science and Engineering Research Board under Accelerate Vigyan Scheme. A training and skill internship as well as a high-end workshop is included in this program.
Any Faculty or Scientist who is interested in getting a grant under one of the programs can apply. An online application form is required to be filled out.
Applications are invited twice a year for both programs. We are currently accepting online applications for the summer season. You have until 28 February 2022 to submit your application. Make sure you collect the detailed information and submit the form as soon as possible.
SERB Accelerate Vigyan Scheme benefits

One week is the minimum duration of the workshop

Two weeks is the maximum duration of the workshop

For a workshop, no more than 25 applicants will be selected

Is it possible for SERB to limit the number of participants in any given workshop?

On completion of the workshop, the host institute will issue a certificate to the participants
-
TA, stationery, consumables, accommodation, food, and other daily expenses will be covered for students.

There will be a support amount of Rs. 20,000 per student for the whole workshop
SERB Accelerate Vigyan Scheme Features

There will be at least four weeks of workshop time

Eight weeks is the maximum duration of the workshop

Upon satisfactory completion of the internship and submission of the assignment report, the supervisor and head of the department will issue a certificate to the intern.

An intern’s tasks and assignments will be assigned by the supervisor to whom they are attached

At the end of the internship, interns are required to submit a report
-
Interns who do not complete the requisite period will not receive a certificate.

During their internship, interns will receive daily expenses such as stationery, consumables, accommodation, food, etc.

Interns selected for this program will not receive stipends
-
Interns will receive Rs. 30,000 in support for the entire internship
SERB Accelerate Eligibility Criteria

The applicant should be a faculty member or a scientist
-
In addition to IITs, IISc, IISERs, NITs, and other institutions and laboratories of eminence such as CSIR, ICAR, and ICMR, the applicant must be employed by a central institution of higher learning and research.

A letter of endorsement signed and stamped by the host institution’s competent authority.

A certificate from the organizer of the event

A brief overview of the workshop, including objectives, event technical sessions, and a list of potential in-house and external experts.
