Government of India manages the Sanskrit Scholarship 2023 through Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. This scholarship program is for students in classes 9 through 12 and at the undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral level. Sanskrit students can benefit from this scheme if they are pursuing their academics in the language.

Sanskrit Scholarship 2023

Those students pursuing their academics with Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a major or optional subject are eligible for a Sanskrit Scholarship provided by the government of India. There is a different scholarship duration for each class or level ranging from 10 months to two years.

The number of scholarships offered to students is dependent on the amount of funds available. For the development of Sanskrit education, this scheme has been launched. Sanskrit Scholarship Objective

Sanskrit Scholarships are an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India

Sanskrit Scholarship Eligibility 

To be eligible, candidates must have passed the qualifying examination and have chosen Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit as a main or optional subject.

Sanskrit Scholarship 2022-23 Application 

  • Interested applicants should consult the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan’s (Central Sanskrit University’s) official website.

  • A scheme can be accessed from the home page of the portal

  • Choose the appropriate link from the notification list that appears on the screen

  • The online application form will open once you click the link

  • Complete the application form by entering information like

    • Name

    • Contact number

    • Email id

    • Date of birth

    • Gender

    • Category etc.

  • Review the application form and click the submit button

  • For future use, take a printout of the form.

Note: No need to submit the hard copy of the application form. Only submit the online application.

Terms and Conditions

The Sanskrit scholarship terms and conditions must be reviewed by applicants

  • Students must have received at least 60% marks (General), 55% (OBC), and 50% (SC/ST/Divine Body) in their previous academic year.

  • For further study, the applicant must choose Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit as a main or optional subject

  • It is necessary for applicants to reapply for the scholarship. In the following academic year, it is not automatically renewed.

  • There should be no need to upload any documents or send them via post.

  • It is necessary for students to open an account with a nationalized bank, such as State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Indian Bank, Canara Bank & Union Bank of India, in order to transfer funds.

  • There must be a link between the bank account and the Aadhar number

  • Each year, the scholarship amount will be due on the 1st of July.

  • It will not be available to students who already receive any other scholarship.

  • Students who accept a remunerative job during the scholarship tenure will not be eligible for the scholarship.

  • The scheme does not apply to students studying any other course of study without a Sanskrit component.
