LIC Scholarship: Golden Jubilee Scholarship eligibility, duration and other details

LIC Scholarship: For students belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has invited applications for its Golden Jubilee Scholarships 2022. In order to ensure better opportunities for higher education and employability in the future, this scholarship is being offered to students who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies in government or private colleges in India.

Applicants can apply for this scholarship program at Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), which offers both technical and vocational courses. Furthermore, it includes integrated courses after Class 12.

It is only through online applications via the official website – http://www.licindia.in/ or Golden Jubilee Foundation link that candidates can apply for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship. There is a deadline of 18 December 2022 for applications for the scholarship.

LIC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility criteria must be met by candidates to apply for the LIC scholarship scheme and avoid the application being cancelled:

Regular Scholars: 

Class 10 Class 12
Candidates must have passed the intermediate exam with at least 60% marks/equivalent grades in the academic year 2021-22

In the academic year 2021-22, candidates must have passed the higher secondary exam with at least 60% marks/equivalent grades

The candidate must be willing to pursue higher education in vocational courses through government-recognized colleges or industrial training institutes (ITIs).

Medicine, Engineering, a Graduate degree in any discipline, an Integrated Course, a Diploma in any field or an equivalent course, a Vocational Course, through government recognized colleges and institutes, or a course at an industrial training institute are all acceptable to them.

The annual income (from all sources) of the candidate’s parents must not exceed INR 2.5 lakhs per year

Special Girl Scholars: 

  • It is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 10 or equivalent exam with at least 60% marks/equivalent grade in the academic year 2021-22

  • Class 12 students must be willing to continue their studies

  • Candidates’ parents’ annual income (from all sources) must not exceed INR 2.5 lakhs

Duration of the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship

  • Regular students will receive the scholarship amount for the entire course duration.

  • Scholarships will be offered to special girl scholars for 2 years, if they meet the requisite eligibility requirements.

Details of the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship

There are two categories of scholarships, which are divided according to a divisional criterion. LIC will award 20 regular scholarships for pursuing higher education for each divisional centre. Shortlisted male candidates will receive 10 scholarships, while female students will receive 10 scholarships. In order of distribution, the awards will be as follows:

  1. The scholarship amount will be INR 20,000 per year for regular scholars

  2. A scholarship of INR 10,000 will be provided each year to Special Girl Scholars

Note:

  • A total of three installments will be paid

  • NEFT will be used to transfer the scholarship amount to the selected scholar’s bank account

  • The selected candidates must provide the bank account details and IFSC code, as well as a copy of a canceled check with their name on it

  • A family cannot receive more than one Golden Jubilee scholarship from LIC.
