Providing essential financial support, the government of Goa has introduced two significant scholarship schemes aimed at students belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community. These initiatives, the Goa Pre Matric Scholarship and the Goa Post Matric Scholarship, endeavor to facilitate the educational journey of ST students in the state. With different eligibility criteria and amounts, these scholarships aim to empower students and enable them to pursue their academic aspirations.
Goa Pre Matric Scholarship For ST Students
Under the centrally sponsored scheme, the Goa Pre Matric Scholarship For ST Students has been specifically designed for students enrolled in pre-matric classes, including 9th and 10th grades. This scholarship is available to students residing in Goa and caters to both scholars and hostelers.
Scholarship Amount
- Scholars: Rs. 150/- per month
- Hostelers: Rs. 350/- per month

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Goa Pre Matric Scholarship For ST Students, the student must:
- Belong to the state of Goa
- Be a candidate from the ST community
- Be pursuing studies in the 9th and 10th grades
- Have an annual family income limit of Rs. 2,50,000/-
Goa Post Matric Scholarship For ST Students
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the Goa Post Matric Scholarship For ST Students to provide financial assistance for students pursuing higher education from recognized institutions. This scholarship scheme is open to ST students residing in Goa and offers varying scholarship amounts based on the course undertaken by the student.
Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amounts are categorized into groups based on the courses pursued:
- Group I: Rs. 550/- (Scholar) & Rs. 1200/- (Hosteler)
- Group II: Rs. 530/- (Scholar) & Rs. 820/- (Hosteler)
- Group III: Rs. 300/- (Scholar) & Rs. 570/- (Hosteler)
- Group IV: Rs. 230/- (Scholar) & Rs. 380/- (Hosteler)

- Reside in Goa state
- Belong to the ST category
